Alfa Romeo 4C 2018 Bahrain Prices & Specs

The Alfa Romeo 4C is a return to form for a company that prides itself on its sporting heritage, although it is a mass-market product by no means. The Italian carmaker's new sports car is revolutionary for its price bracket, with a carbon-fibre tub chassis, a mostly-aluminium hybrid rear frame, and composite body panels, all to keep its weight to a minimum. That means a small 1.75-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine is enough to give it near-supercar performance. The 4C is equipped with a 6-speed "TCT" dual dry-clutch transmission using gearshift paddles. It also has an Alfa 'DNA' dynamic control selector which controls the behavior of engine, brakes, throttle response, suspension and gearbox. There is even a "Race" mode. The 4C has a high quadrilateral suspension at the front and MacPherson struts in the rear. The weight distribution is 38:62 front/rear with a mid-engine layout. The front and rear rims are a different diameter and width, 17-inch front and 18-inch rear as standard, with an optional 18-inch front and 19-inch rear setup. The 4C has Brembo ventilated disc brakes in all corners. There is no power steering, in order to save weight. Safety features include several airbags and stability control. The initial Launch Edition, limited to 1000 worldwide, is available in white or red, fitted with carbon fibre trim and other extra accessories. The regular version will follow later, all built at the Maserati factory in Modena.
