Dodge Charger 2006 Overview
Combining extreme power and a chop-top body, the all-new Dodge Charger delivers an experience like no other, except maybe for its sibling, the Chrysler 300C. Available with a 3.5-litre "High-Output" V6 engine or the infamous 5.7-litre HEMI V8 engine, but the SRT-8 6.1-litre HEMI V8 has been left out of the GCC. The Dodge Charger races into the local market with contemporary, provocative styling and substance with all the conveniences of a modern sedan. The 5.7-litre HEMI V8 engine comes with the Multi-Displacement System, also known as MDS, that seamlessly deactivates four cylinders in just 40 milliseconds when full V8 power is not needed, improving fuel economy by as much as 20 percent, though fuel economy is still far from impressive. Either engine is mated to a fully automatic five-speed transmission with AutoStick. In addition to the Charger's aggressive design, features include standard Electronic Stability Program (ESP), ABS brakes, all-speed traction control and optional DVD entertainment. Some dealers offer an expensive upgrade kit to make the R/T look like a faux SRT-8.
Dodge Charger 2006 Reliability & Resale Value

Resale Value | |
Known Problems | Early models had problems with leaky O-ring seals in transmission and front-wheel alignment issues, but it is unknown if newer cars are affected. Early models had a/c issues, fixed by software upgrade. Random but minor electrical issues may affect earlier cars, so avoid pre-2006 grey-imports by used car dealers. |
