Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class 2017 Overview
The Mercedez-Benz GLS-Class is the new name for the GL-Class. In 2016, it received a facelift, along with mechanical updates. The GLS uses 4MATIC, the permanent Mercedes-Benz four-wheel drive system, with special off-road features such as Downhill Speed Regulation (DSR), hill-start assist and off-road ABS assist. The package includes a two-speed transfer case with a low range ratio and 100 percent differential locks for the transfer case and the rear axle. The GLS 500 comes with a 4.7-litre turbocharged V8 engine, mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Equipped with the third-row individual seats, the GLS-Class is a full-size seven-seater. Either one or both seats can be electrically folded to create a continuously level load floor. All the usual Mercedes-Benz safety and luxury power features are included in this one too. The AMG body-kit is offered on the GLS 500 as an exterior package.

| Known Problems | In the US, there were recalls for the Active Curve System (ACS) oil leak, door which may not lock, airbag which may not deploy properly, and loss of power steering assist. Random reports of vehicle prompting oil change and brake pads replacements are due earlier than needed. Few owners reported of Bluetooth connectivity failure. |
