Audi A5 Sportback 2012 Saudi Arabia Prices & Specs

The Audi A5 originally debuted for 2008 in the GCC as a four-seater coupe based on the latest stretched A4 platform, with the range later diluted by the addition of a 5-door model. All A5 versions feature a loudmouth grille framed by rectangular headlights, a very thick C-pillar, frameless windows, and a waistline that flows upwards around the wheel arches. For 2010, the A5 Sportback 5-door liftback model joined the range, with a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo engine, a 7-speed DSG automanual and all-wheel-drive. Technology includes partial LED lighting, an electromechanical parking brake, an all-plastic key and three-zone climate control, along with all the usual luxury features, such as power windows, electric mirrors, sunroof and leather upholstery. Safety features include multiple airbags, ABS and stability control. The new platform moves the engine more rearward in relation to the front axle for better balance and handling, but ultimately the car loses out on the fun factor in any form, either due to its front-driven underpinnings or to its overly-safe Quattro system.
