The C4 Picasso is a modern replacement for the oddball Xsara Picasso. Based on the C4 compact platform, it is a tall stylish minivan-type vehicle that drives like a car and has the practicality of a big 4WD. It seats only five, and the larger seven-seater Grand Picasso is not offered here. When all five seats are up, has 500 litres of boot space underneath the luggage cover, extending to a maximum 1,734 litres once the rear seats are folded down. Only two 4-cylinder engines are offered, one a 1.8-litre and one a 2.0-litre, with a choice of manual or automatic gearboxes that vary by model. According to trim level, the metal suspension can be replaced with pneumatic suspension on the rear axle on 2.0-litre models. Citroën has paid close attention to achieving the best levels of acoustic comfort and vibration control, as well as a new air-conditioning system. Its cloth-lined cabin can be outfitted with a variety of options, such as a panoramic glass roof, high-quality stereo system and folding video screens in the back of the front seats. The C4 Picasso has four Isofix seat tethers, audible seatbelt warnings for all seats and seven airbags as standard. Automatic electronic parking brake and Hill Start Assist are also fitted as standard.
