The second generation Volkswagen Tiguan came as a 2017 model. It's 60mm longer, while the wheelbase has stretched by 77mm as a result of moving the front and rear axles closer to the extremities of the car. Width, too, is expanded by 30mm, when compared to the previous generation. In 2021, it got a facelift. There are two 4-cyinder turbocharged engines in the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan, one a 1.4-litre and the other a 2.0-litre but available in two different states of tune. The front-wheel-drive 1.4 engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic 'DSG' gearbox, whereas the all-wheel-drive 2.0 gets the 7-speed 'DSG' gearbox. The 2020 Volkswagen Tiguan has seating for five, with a split-folding 60:40 rear bench, and has multiple position settings for the seatback. The cabin can be had in cloth or leather, and features include power windows, electric mirrors, multiple airbags, stability control, ABS brakes, cruise control and CD stereo with a dash-mounted touchscreen. An automatic parallel parking system is also available, as are parking sensors and a rear camera. Safety features include front and side curtain airbags, parking sensors, traction control, ABS and brake assist.
