GMC Yukon 2014 Overview
The GMC Yukon got a new 6-speed automatic transmission from 2009 onward and also the Yukon Denali got a slight power increase. A beefy Vortec 5.3-litre V8 powers the Yukon, with better fuel economy to boot. The V8 powers the rear wheels on the road, or through all four wheels when the standard 4WD system is engaged. Features include power windows, electric mirrors and additional power equipment, along with a folding third-row seat. Power-adjustable brake and accelerator pedals are standard on the higher models and optional on the base versions. New features also include power folding rear seats, among other things. On the road, Yukon is smooth and stable in a straight line, hopeless in the corners and strong off the road. The Yukon XL is the long-wheelbase GMC version of the Suburban, and offers more room in the back. Rear passengers can enjoy an optional package that includes a DVD system with flip-down seven-inch colour monitor, six-disc in-dash audio player and Bose speakers. The Denali version adds a 6.2-litre V8 with a 6-speed auto, chrome trim and some luxury interior features, but loses off-road gearing.
GMC Yukon 2014 Reliability & Resale Value
Reliability | |
---|---|
Resale Value | |
Known Problems | Numerous random issues such as faulty power door locks and windows, non-closing door/tailgate latches, seat-belt tensioner problems, jammed steering adjustment mechanism, centre-armrest rattle and windshield-wiper motor chatter, but not all owners have same problems. Some report issues with mass air-flow sensor, leaking rear axle, throttle position sensor and erratic automatic transmission behaviour, though problems seem isolated. |
