Lexus GS 2010 Overview
Launched in 2006, the Lexus GS already started to feel dated a few years later, and the 2009 update didn't help matters too much. Lexus openly admitted that the BMW 5-Series was their benchmark for this rear-wheel-drive GS, and yet it never caught on, especially with its detuned engine choices in the GCC when compared to foreign markets. The GS 300 gets a basic 3.0-litre V6 with a 6-speed automatic, while the new-for-2009 GS 460 gets a 4.6-litre V8 paired with an 8-speed automatic. The list of standard equipment includes 18-inch alloy wheels, leather-trimmed seats with front power adjustment, keyless entry, pushbutton starter, 14-speaker Mark Levinson audio system with both CD and DVD capability, Bluetooth wireless telephone technology, rear camera, multiple airbags, ABS and various stability systems, sunroof, adaptive front lighting, and a 7-inch multi-information touch screen. Options on higher trim levels include DVD navigation, power rear sunshade, active cruise control and a "Pre-Crash" safety system.
