Chevrolet Camaro convertible coming in 2011
The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro coupe has already hit the streets, more or less, but there was speculation that the Camaro convertible, shown off as a concept numerous times, has been cancelled. But GM has confirmed that the drop-top is still on.
GM spokesmen in the U.S. as well as at a UAE press event confirmed that the Camaro convertible is slated for production. The only thing that has changed is the launch date, as production is now slated to start in the beginning months of 2011, which would make the rag-top a 2012 model when it hits the showroom.
Images circulating on the net already show a near-production version undergoing real-world tests in Australia, where the Camaro was developed using a shortened Lumina SS platform.
