Subaru Impreza WRX 2011 gets STI widebody
The current Subaru Impreza WRX sedan is lukewarm, to say the least, looking like a econo-appliance rather than the sporting compact that it is. But the 2011 model is going to be facelifted, with a widebody kit similar to the WRX STI.
Powered by a 265 hp 2.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo, the 2011 WRX will have a wider track front and rear, firmer rear subframe bushings from the STI and wider 17-inch wheels wrapped in 235/45 tyres.
The widened fenders are complemented by a restylized front lip spoiler, as well as a larger blacked-out grille and intakes. The whole package adds 15 kg to the overall curb weight of the WRX. Even the WRX hatchback will get the STI treatment.
The new Impreza WRX will debut at the upcoming 2010 New York Auto Show. It is unknown whether the 2011 WRX sedan will be officially offered in the UAE or other GCC countries. So far, the Dubai dealer has officially offered the WRX STI, while floor salespeople vaguely mention that the WRX sedan is already offered here for around Dhs 135,000, but they never seem too sure in their answers. Keep track of the model in the Subaru buyer guide.

I am really excited to see how much of a difference they made as the new body runs on stiffened suspension. They said it’s better than the current limited edition sti. Can’t wait to see real world number and THE WING IS BACK!
