Nissan Armada 2011 released in the U.S.

It looks like reports of the demise of the Nissan Armada were premature. Nissan has just released details of the 2011 Armada in the United States. It remains unchanged, and still powered by a 317 hp 5.6-litre V8.

The huge Armada was supposedly headed for the chopping block after the recession killed the market for large SUVs in America. It shares its platform with the US-spec Nissan Titan pickup truck. The Armada was also designed and built in the United States.

However, the Armada may still be slated to go out of production by the end of 2010, considering the overlap with the larger new Nissan Patrol in the Middle East, which remains the only region where large 4x4s are popular. The Infiniti QX56, previously based on the Armada, has already been replaced by a new model based on the new Patrol for 2011.

The Armada is rather popular in the UAE, and this “new” model should reach local shores soon.

  1. Squeezing out whatever they can out of the model before killing it off I think….

  2. by far the best buy balancing build quality, usefulness and price!!!!!!!!!

    keep them coming!

  3. Ya, it doesn’t seem to die… The old maxima was probably the longest living old model a year back…. The Sunny also refuses to die, comes back as Sunny Classic with revised front grill..
