Lexus IS F 2011 UAE details and pricing released

The exclusive UAE dealer for Toyota has announced the launch of Lexus’ first high performance sports sedan from the ‘F’ series, the 2011 Lexus IS F.

Powered by a performance tuned 417 hp 5.0-litre V8 engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, the IS F is the first of many ‘F’ models coming to the UAE in the near future. The F marque derives its name and design from Japan’s Fuji Speedway which is home to Lexus’ high performance vehicle development.

Based on the IS luxury-sports sedan, the IS F underwent an extensive re-engineering and development program. In addition to the unique 5.0-litre V8 engine, the IS F features a sports-tuned version of the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) system, Brembo brakes and a quick-shifting paddle-system auto transmission. It can do the 0-100 kph run in 4.8 seconds, and the gearbox is able to change gears in 0.1 seconds.

On the road the IS F is distinguishable from the other IS models by its low stance and deep front spoiler with larger grille and intakes. Wider wheel arches featuring side vents house the 19-inch forged-alloy wheels and the bespoke tyres designed in conjunction with Michelin. At the rear, the stacked quad tailpipes in the deep rear bumper and a spoiler integrated into the lip of the boot complete the look.

The IS F’s interior comes in a choice of either, black, black/white or black/orange dual tone semi-aniline leather seats with the F marque logo incorporated throughout the upholstery and on the three spoke steering wheel. Sporting details extend to a silver ‘carbon-fibre effect’ finish around the gear shift, aluminium pedals and blue LED lit speedometer. Also included are heavily-bolstered seats, ‘System Start’ push button, wheel mounted gear-shift paddles, cruise control, audio and phone controls, dual-zone climate control, 14-speaker Mark Levinson audio system and 8 airbags.

The stunning Lexus IS F is available in a choice of six distinct exterior colours complemented by the optional interior tone duality with prices starting from Dhs 299,000.

  1. I just can’t understand why would anyone buy a sports sedan or a sports car in automatic transmission. I have driven the Nissan GT-R R35 it is way better than my expectations but some fun is still hidden in it.

  2. Author

I had more fun with the Type-R than the GT-R.

  3. 299k? Madness. CTS-V over this 8 speed mess ANY DAY.

  4. Yeah. With the same cash I would go for a CTS-V.

  5. Last time I checked the CTS-V was cheaper (280-290k). And:

    – Manual transmission is available
    – Auto transmission has a sane 6 speed transmission, not some shoddy 8 speed
    – It will DESTROY the IS F in a straight line and around corners
    – Looks better (subjective)

  6. IS-F is 4.8 seconds 0-100kph
    CTS-V is 3.9 seconds.
Here CTS-V is the one to go for.
But the IS-F has more luxuries. I would still go for the performance.

  7. i’ll take the BMW 3M over this in a heart beat…

  8. Just looks plus those exhaust pipes are fake … can take down a M3 in a longer run but not in corners. its like a rabbit with four legs behind too much power and cant be controlled easily!

  9. For this money I’d buy a proper performance car.. This have proven to have a hard time competeing with an M3..

  10. I think it must have 6-Speed Manual Transmission So it will be lighter n cheaper than the current model.

  11. lol this looks like one big joke to be honest. 300k dhs for this car is a major rip off! In the states it’s marked at 217K dhs from the Lexus website. 299k for that car is a waste. You can get yourself a carerra or a corvette. For a car in a similar class the CTS-V will eat it alive.

  12. hey guys, i dont think its that badly priced. CTS-V is jus a pure American muscle car, flashy stylin n powerful retro engine. with Lexus, one wud get more toys to play with. n on the price front, comparin with the Mercs n Bimmers, its not that expensive. Imagine a top speed of 270kph, outgunnin the Mercs n Bimmers;)
