Mercedes-Benz M-Class 2012 launched with ML350 model
Mercedes-Benz will launch their redesigned 2012 M-Class at the end of this summer, with three engine choices, two diesel and only one petrol. The M-Class will be initially offered in ML250 Bluetec, ML350 Bluetec and ML350 BlueEfficiency variants, with hybrid and AMG versions coming later.
The ML250 will be powered by a 204 hp 2.1-litre turbodiesel 4-cylinder with 500 Nm of torque, while the ML350 Bluetec comes with a 258 hp 3.0-litre turbodiesel V6 with 619 Nm of torque. The petrol version is the ML350 BlueEfficiency, and it has a direct-injected 306 hp 3.5-litre V6 with 370 Nm of torque, good for 0-100 kph in 7.6 seconds and a top speed of 234 kph. All three engines will be mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive.
The 2012 M-Class shares its platform with the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, but it cannot match its cheaper cousin’s offroad abilities. An optional self-leveling Airmatic suspension with selective damping will be available, as is a new “On&Offroad” package that offers six different transmission modes to match driving conditions, but there is no low-range gearing. Wheel sizes range between 17-inch to 20-inch, with optional 21-inch AMG wheels available as well.
The overly-tall ML crossover SUV also gets a new interior, an updated COMAND infotainment system with Internet access, and several trim choices, but the rumoured third-row seating did not materialise. Available tech options include Intelligent Light System, Night View Assist Plus with automatic person recognition, Speed Limit Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Distronic Plus adaptive cruise control, Active Park Assist, reverse camera and autonomous braking. Safety features include stability control, nine airbags, Attention Assist drowsiness detection, PreSafe pre-collision protection, tyre-pressure monitor, adaptive brake lights and electronic brake assist.
Expect the 2012 M-Class to reach UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC markets by the start of winter this year.
Keep track of updates in the Mercedes-Benz M-Class buyer guide.

Interior is cool and amazing step up.
But, there’s a big BUT over there!~~
Now come on Mercedes, you were doing it right with the CLS and the new coming cars….
What the hell is this rear for??
It looks kind of a VeraCruz, and a van!!!!
I really want to design cars badly to show these people how to design cars. (I am talking about all car manufactures in general)
ronnie
lovely interior,gr8 engines but the design looks like ssyanyong prototype
samer
Ronnie, I really like you, we always share the same ideas, you are absolutly right, it looks like this SSSSSsssanyoonug AAccttyoni macaroni …whatever…

Get a room, you two!

I think its nice. Keep in mind the market they are targeting. Its not meant for the sporty type. You can see that from the rear leg room. massive!! From inside and out its a huge step forward from the disaster that is the current M class. Hope the AMG version will be angry and butch enuff for people like us. 😉
BKJ
the rear hurts my eyes 🙁
Aarav
looks like they’ve just raised a ssangyong van!! :O
ROJ
There is seriously alot of Ssangyong in it..
snapneck
hm I kinda like it, or maybe I’m just getting old 🙁 …good job with the interiors, much better than what BMW is doing these days.

I don’t like the rear. It doesnt go with the rest of the body. hmm..only one petrol option…y no ML 250 or 280 in petrol is beyond me. Guess they want to keep the exclusivity.
Wonder if its chassis partner, The Grand Jeep will get some extra mileage because this will turn out to expensive, and no off-road. But then again, hardly see the MLs in the deserts or heavy mountains in this part of the world.

Good Lord !!!
this is the ugliest Merc i’ve ever seen, what’s with rear and profile? 🙁 not mentioning the front which is like a ripped off face. However, the interior looks fine, i guess they spent so much time on the interior so when time came to wrok on the exterior it was already one week from launch date 🙂

Interesting link AbdelAziz. Thanks
Im a big fan of ‘German made’ Mercedes-Benz vehicles but it has to be said … much more could’ve been done to the exterior design of this ML’12. However, a job well done with the interior design.
marwan
it is fine…hope i will obtain one someday…but ofcourse with a facelift version as i am sure they will review the front end
