Geely Emgrand EC825 in camo spotted in Dubai

Geely is on a roll in the GCC region, it seems. Two test cars in light camo which were spotted by two commuters in Dubai on two different streets that lay fairly close by, turned out to be two different models from the same manufacturer, Geely. This one is the Emgrand EC825.

The Emgrand EC825 is another product which is independently developed by Geely. The mid-size sedan is powered either by a 2-litre engine rated for 136 hp and 184 Nm of torque, or a 2.4-litre engine good for 162 hp and 225 Nm of torque. It is unknown whether the engines are self-developed by Geely or sourced from Mitsubishi.

Credits to two of our regular readers from the forums – Shafiq who spotted the car running on Business Bay bridge in Dubai and managed to take a snap of it; and the other is Fuad who identified the car. Geely’s intention of penetrating into the crowded compact and midsize segments in the Middle East could not be any clearer.

Price for a base Emgrand EC825 in the Chinese market is roughly over a whopping Dhs 60,000. Though Geely’s pricing intentions for the UAE market is currently unknown, giving it a similar price tag would be as wise as shooting oneself in the head.

  1. Chinese Junk!

  2. looks gud but 1 crash and u’ll see all parts flyn

  3. The interior looks good for a Chinese car, it’s just those cheap looking AC vents that give it away.

Also, doesn’t the logo on the steering wheel remind of you of Cadillac?

  4. hello
i want to know that do you have Geely cars, where is your show
    room?

  5. I want to know the resale value of EC8 2012 model.

  6. I am definitely not a Chinese car fan. However, I have driven the EC8 and was pleasantly surprised with the quality. Its clear that Volvo have influenced the safety and overall package. I know question the Camry as a value for money proposition being 45k more for the same spec.
