So we got a 2011 Porsche Cayenne V6
This is the first time we’ve ever driven the Porsche Cayenne outside of a racetrack. Memories of chasing 911s in the Cayenne Turbo at the Porsche Roadshow are still fresh in our minds, but the streets are a different thing altogether. And even if it was for only a day, we still got a decent look at the most overlooked of Cayennes – the base V6 version.
The Cayenne was an abomination when it first debuted a decade ago. Since then, the styling has been refined to a fair degree, and it actually looks a lot better now.
There is nothing much to say about the interior…
…because it is a jaw-dropper!
For our one-day test, we toyed around some desert roads, some city roads and some hotel valets.
Our off-road excursion was limited to some soft sand by the side of the road. But more on that later in our First Drive review.

I always wondered how they manage to dish out 400nm of torque from a naturally aspirated 3.6 V6, engineering marvel me thinks…

A lot of people here may disagree with me, but I feel that the new design of Cayenne had lost its musculaine looks and identity and for its time the older Cayenne was BETTER LOOKING that this new generation-particulary its strange taillights.. other than that the new cayenne’s interior is awsome 🙂

The new one is a definite improvement on the previous generations in all aspects. On the other hand I dont think cayenne was or will ever be a masculine looking car.

Agree with you 100% marwan. I guess that’s why compared to the previous generation cayenne you don’t find as many of the new model on the road. The tail is where they really messed up but the interior is classier than the previous model

Any owners on board who can share their experience of owning a Cayenne?
Maintainece costs / dealer support etc.

A car enthusiast person should drive a porsche at least once in his life. Its that good.

not as good as land cruiser

If you are speaking about off road, then I agree, other than that, there is no comparison, the cars are from two different categories and the cruiser shape looks pathetic.

I think this amazing interior should be used in the old model since the old one has a far more superior exterior than the new one.. What do you guys think?

This is a truly nice car, I like it soooooo much. if you pay attention, you will notice that the car is selling well because there is no alternative, the Merc ML and GL are both ugly, the range rover vogue and sport have been having the same shape almost since 2004 and they are n more attractive or appealing to look, so the cayenne comes to fill the gap, and by the way, even its price started to be competitive with the stupidly priced Japanese cars
