Porsche Boxster 2013 redesigned to look the same
The Porsche Boxster has undergone comprehensive changes for the 2013 model year, even though it looks largely the same to the untrained eye.
The open-top two-seater now has a completely new lightweight all-aluminium body, and a revamped longer-wheelbase platform with a wider track and larger wheels. The Boxster now has shorter overhangs, a significantly forward-shifted windshield and a generally lower side-profile. The interior space is now larger, with a 911-style dashboard. Even the soft-top has been redesigned to delete the compartment lid for the folding top.
The base model’s updated 2.7-litre engine now offers 265 hp, while the 3.4-litre Boxster S engine has been upgraded to 315 hp. Both engines are flat-6 units with direct injection, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed “PDK” automanual gearbox. Engine efficiency is boosted by new electro-mechanical power steering, a new start/stop-at-idle function and other features. Therefore the 2013 Boxster boasts better performance with 15% more fuel efficiency. Depending on model, it consumes significantly less than 8 litres/100 km as rated.
The Boxster with PDK does the 0-100 kph sprint in 5.7 seconds, while the Boxster S can do it in just 5.0 seconds.
Porsche offers a Sport Chrono Package as an optional extra, featuring dynamic transmission mounts for the first time. Also new for the Boxster is Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) with mechanical rear axle differential lock.
The new Porsche Boxster and Boxster S are available for order already, with first deliveries starting in June this year. The basic retail price for the Boxster in the GCC is Dhs 196,900, whereas the Boxster S is available from Dhs 217,100. Options can add up to Dhs 100,000 to the UAE price.
Keep track of updates in the Porsche Boxster buyer guide.

This car just got too expensive.. starts at 210K??!?
Its supposed to be the poor man’s Porsche..
marc
cmon ROJ, be fair.
this care is fantastic although certainly far away from being a 911. if i compare the design, power, build quality and luxury level of this car (neglect depreciation for a second), then there is clearly more “value” in this care compared to 200k versions of the land cruiser, prado, overland, etc.. (plus, it is a porsche at the end of the day 🙂 )
ROJ
I would not compare it to the land cruiser.. Both cars appeal to different consumers with different needs.
I would consider looking at competitors and how it manages to provide value for money in comparison to its rivals.
ronnie
where thou interior pics?
Mashfique Hussain Chowdhury
Thou not release any.
Dude
They are released but I am just a lazy fat ***!
Hassan
210K is a poors man Porche. The Camry is around 100K these days, so what to you expect from the top German Brand!!
Every thing is going up year after year, except our salaries; they don’t seem to follow…
ROJ
In the past 20 years the price of cars went up by 100% while the avg income has increased by 50%..
I will cite the source from where I got this info soon so yes cars did get a bit costy and one reason for that is the increased number of luxuries that are coming standard with entry model vehicles..
Porsche is a premium car and only people with a large wad of cash will go for it but the real complaint would be about mainstream cars like the Camry which are supposed to be affordable by consumers of the avg income..
Dude
It does not look the same, and the redesign they made actually made the car look exactly like I would imagine a modern Porsche to be like.
I am in love with this car, its extremely decent and conservative.

Can i ask where you got the prices from ?
Cheers
Dude
I don’t know where you came up with these prices! They are not even there on the Porsche website. All it says TBA “to be announced”!
Mashfique Hussain Chowdhury
Yeah, I completely made up these prices because I was bored and Porsche in no way would tell them to me.
Dude
Yes you made them up or they are the ones for the previous model. Man Porsche won’t tell you prices if they don’t yet know them for sure.
marc
Mash is right. i spoke to them re Cayenne and i asked them about the 2013 boxster. the guy confirmed the price ballpark
bob w
