2014 Porsche 911 GT3 revealed at Geneva Motor Show
Porsche has officially unveiled the 911 GT3 at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The GT3 is essentially the hardcore track-day version of the increasingly-luxurious 911.
The GT3 distinguishes itself from the standard 911 with a more aggressive front bumper and optional LED headlamps. It also gets wider rear fenders, a new rear bumper featuring a centre-mounted dual exhaust system, and 20-inch forged alloy wheels. The interior has the option of leather or Alcantara seats and an Alcantara wrapped steering wheel with red stitching.
Powering the GT3 is a 3.8-litre 6-cylinder boxer engine which produces 475 hp and 438 Nm of torque, mated to their PDK 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This is enough to take it from 0-100 kph in 3.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 315 kph. This is the first time that the GT3 has gone automatic, when it had always been manual previously.
For the first time in a Porsche, the GT3 will feature a rear-wheel steering system, where the rear wheels move in the same direction or opposite direction to improve its handling agility.
Expect the new 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 to hit showrooms in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries by the end of the year.
