2015 Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG gets 621 hp
For all those loyal fans who thought the S63 AMG, which was revealed a few months ago did not have enough oomph can now rejoice, because Mercedes-Benz has officially revealed the twelve-cylinder beast of a car; the S65 AMG.
The new addition to the S-lineup is fueled by a 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged V12 producing 621 hp and a mind-boggling 1000 Nm of torque. Another new addition to that is the new 7-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC with three driving programs; Controlled Efficiency (C), Sport (S) and Manual (M). Thus, we’d love to believe the 0-100 kph performance figures released by Mercedes-Benz, which stands at 4.2 seconds. Furthermore, the top-speed is electronically limited to 250 kph.
There are no surprises to the exterior, but we do miss the “I want to eat you up” look from the previous generation S-Class AMG’s. Still, this gets the angry looking air-intakes, and the upright and distinctive radiator grill, which features on the S63 AMG. There are also 20-inch alloys to complement the sporty looks.
Furthermore, the AMG sports suspension is based on MAGIC BODY CONTROL which comes as standard with the ROAD SURFACE SCAN technology. They call it the “world’s first suspension with eyes”. It ensures passenger comfort over undulating surfaces as well as better cornering.
The interior blushes with traditional Mercedes-Benz quality, but a few complementary AMG specific add-ons are the AMG instrument cluster, the Head-up 8×3-inch display and the touchpad which takes care of all infotainment needs including the radio, telephone and navigation system.
Additional AMG extras include an AMG exterior carbon-fibre package, AMG ceramic high-performance composite braking system, performance steering wheel in nappa leather/DINAMICA, black AMG trim in carbon-fibre/black piano lacquer and red brake calipers.
The new S65 AMG is available exclusively in long wheelbase form and is scheduled to celebrate its double world premiere simultaneously at the Los Angeles International Auto Show on November 20 and at the Tokyo Motor Show on December 1. We expect the S65 AMG to enter into UAE, Oman, Saudi-Arabia and the rest of the GCC by mid-2014. Pricing will be announced closer to the launch of the vehicle. Still, you know it’s going to touch the late six-figure price-tag here in the UAE.

Specs seems gr8, though the AMG differentiation is much more subtle looking when compared with the earlier generation especially in the above colour. This car + the highway the Dubai Police chief spoke about, what a combination that might be!
