2014 Fiat 500 goes old school with 1957 Edition
Remember ‘Luigi’ from the movie Cars? Paint him blue, and voila, you have your Fiat 500 1957 Edition. But since this is clearly not 1957, all we can do is transform the new embodiment of the Fiat 500 into a 1957 classic. And that is exactly what Fiat has done.
In commemoration of 57 years of the Fiat 500, the company revealed the limited 1957 Edition at the Los Angeles Auto Show last month. Unfortunately, it will only be sold in North America. The car will be offered in three classic exterior colours and will ride on 1957-style wheels. Furthermore, there’s a Bianco-painted roof and vintage “FIAT” emblems to pay homage to the historic Fiat “Nuova” 500. Standard is a 1.4-litre MultiAir engine producing 100 hp and 131 Nm of torque.
The interior consists of premium ‘Marrone’ leather with ‘Avorio’ accents to highlight the Cinquecento’s more than half-century of “contemporary Italian style”.
In any case, there seems to be no way the Fiat 500 1957 Edition is going to make it to the GCC market.
