Ferrari California T set for Geneva Motor Show debut
The previous-generation Ferrari California, despite being the first, front mounted V8 car from the Italian stable was not the best deal in a segment headed by cars such as the Mercedes SL-Class and the Jaguar XK. However, the new facelifted California T could change that. The car is set to be unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
Incidentally, they’ve downsized the engine from a 4.3-litre to a 3.9-litre. But the turbo V8 still produces a hefty 560 hp and 755 Nm of torque. Also, Ferrari boasts a zero turbo-lag engine, which propels the car from 0-100 kph in a mere 3.6 seconds and goes all the way to 316 kph.
The California T comes with a retractable hardtop. It takes 14 seconds for that roof to come down, but as in all Ferrari’s, the final product should be pure exhilaration. Furthermore, there is a new steering box and suspension set-up. It also has F1-Trac traction control system and carbon ceramic brakes with new composite discs and pads for better stopping power.
The car should make its entrance into the UAE, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the rest of the GCC by the end of the year.
