Dubai Police seize 102 cars for street racing, some with fake plates
Dubai Police seized 102 cars for street racing, while hundreds of other cars were impounded for offences such as jumping the red light and driving in the wrong direction.
According to Emirates 24/7, 171 vehicles were also impounded for having fake plates or the number plates were tampered with to avoid speeding fines.
The 102 cars seized for street racing were in just 2 months, from June to July. They were caught racing on busy highways such as Sheikh Zayed Road, Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road or on internal roads such as in Jumeirah, Qusais and Mamzar.
Other offences recorded were for driving on the hard shoulders and pavements, and reckless maneuvering on the roads.
Overall, 937 vehicles were seized by the Dubai Police, which included 127 motorcycles, during June and July for committing dangerous traffic offences.
