2016 Audi R8 officially revealed at Geneva Motor Show

2016 Audi R8 (10)

Audi have taken the wraps off the second generation Audi R8 at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Three variants have been released – the V10, the V10 Plus and the e-tron. The exterior design is an evolution of the previous generation, while underneath is where most of the changes have taken place.

Under the hood, there is no more a V8 engine option, but V10 is still available, which has been reworked for better performance. The base R8 5.2-litre V10 produces 540 hp and 540 Nm of torque, helping it reach from 0-100 in 3.5 seconds and hitting a top speed of 320 kph. The V10 Plus churns out 610 hp and 560 Nm from the same motor, helping it accelerate from 0-100 kph in 3.2 seconds and reaching a top speed of 330 kph.

The fully electric R8 e-tron produces 462 hp and 920 Nm of torque. It does 0-100 kph in 3.9 seconds and hit an electronically limited top speed of 250 kph.

The new Audi R8 has managed to reduce 200 kg by using more carbon-fibre and aluminium for the body.

The 2016 Audi R8 should arrive in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries early next year.

Keep track of the latest prices and updates in the Audi R8 buyer guide.
