Al-Futtaim Motors, exclusive distributor of Toyota in the UAE, has announced the launch of the all-new 5.7-litre V8 Land Cruiser Xtreme, limited to just 60 production units and badged as a “60th Anniversary” edition.
The 5.7-litre Land Cruiser Xtreme is now available with door mirrors, side molding, back door trim, roof rails, 20″ alloy wheels all black painted, in addition to fender flares, smoked LED tail lights, FOX suspension and a hood scoop, among other additions. The mods are performed in the UAE itself, by a company called Arctic Trucks.
Aside from the Xtreme, the dealer is also offering a 4.6-litre V8 Land Cruiser that is also a “60th anniversary” edition and comes with a front bumper lip spoiler with LED running lights, roof spoiler with chrome insert, chrome roof rails, rear bumper spoiler with dual chrome garnish, 9-inch navigation screen with CD/DVD/AUX/USB/Bluetooth and rear-seat entertainment in addition to a rearview camera and blind-spot detection.

Only badu or desert lovers will buy this

Those rear bumper spoiler with dual chrome garnish are the most garish things I’ve seen on the road lately. Looks like cheap after market rubbish from Dragon mart.
Saif
Agreed! The small front bumper alone looks perfect. Front lip spoiler and rear lip spoiler along with those fake dual exhausts look way over the top for a land cruiser.

Why mentioned Dragon Mart? It brought a lot people & money for Dubai.
Alton
That is a very cool truck.

LOL

Massive tires BUT barely any ground clearance?!? do they think before designing these special editions??

I wouldn’t go by the weird photoshop. We drove the older Xtreme, and it was pretty high.

Not a fan .
Personally, my favorite Land Cruisers on the road are the Qatari Land Cruisers because they come without all the tacky accessories.

Guys I just booked the extreme yesterday. Hope I have dome the right thing. Without sounding biased may I say that they have done a pretty good job with this one and nothing tacky about this. It does not have any chrome lights on the rear bumper nor the fake exhausts. Which Vehicle were you referring to? The one I booked is the 5.7 V8 and has the fox suspensions and the 20” wheels. The lift is pretty decent and you get a great view of the road. . Yes of course there will be the sound from the tyres but one can live with that. Other negatives are apparently the brakes ( a bit soft) and that the interior looks like any other VXR. Off road this thing will be a real beast and doubt if we have to use the crawl or the diff lock.

Whats with the 60th anniversary again…?? had seen a series of 60th anniversary editions in 2011 also….:(

It’s a decade-long celebration, don’t you know?
(Actually, the last one celebrated Toyota’s 60th, and this one is celebrating Al Futtaim’s 60th, if I’m not wrong).

I guess most people don’t know about the new model already having been spotted in the Dealer’s garage in Dubai! Nonetheless, I believe the xtreme model had been offered a few years back too (that was Toyota’s 60th Anniversary, I believe). If I’m not mistaken, that Xtreme model was done by the Artic Trucks (they do special and custom jobs for Toyota 4×4, though that’s mainly meant for the Icelandic conditions (harsh environment, but quite the ‘polar’ opposite one to the harsh environment in the desert), though I guess it works here too.

Correction, Artic Trucks also modifies Hyundai (I only saw the old Terracan on their website) as well as Nissan 4x4s, besides Toyota (though they started out with Toyota initially).
