Peugeot Fractal concept revealed ahead of Frankfurt Motor Show
Peugeot has officially revealed the Fractal concept coupe. The “electric urban coupe” is set to make its debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Fractal concept is a compact-sized car and reportedly weighs only 1000 kg. The roof can be removed too. The all-wheel drive vehicle rides on 19-inch alloy wheels, and also gets adjustable air springs.
Under the skin, it gets two 75 kW electric motors, each producing about 101 hp. This is enough to propel it from 0-100 kph in 6.8 seconds. The electric motors work in tandem with the 30 kWh battery, which gives it enough energy to drive for a range of about 450 km.
Inside, 80-percent of the interior has been created using 3D-printed components. The design was inspired by the materials and surfaces used in auditoriums and recording studios.
The concept gets a head-up display that provides a holographic digital readout with a polycarbonate strip delivering additional information. Drivers can customise the 12.3-inch HD digital display and 7.7-inch AMOLED screen to suit individual preferences. Passengers in the rear also have a panel allowing them to adjust settings.
Peugeot shows off its new innovative 9.1.2 sound system in this concept. It works with a combination of speakers around the car which gives the illusion of direction with sound. The new bass system offers a new sensory experience, which allows the bass to travel through a solid medium rather than through the air, meaning the sound waves reach the inner ear through the listener’s body.
The Fractal concept has a digital sound signature, which is used to alert pedestrians and cyclists to its presence. The sound is a response to forthcoming European legislation that states that all electric-vehicles must make some sort of sound while driving by 2019.

Looks like a hint at a future RCZ convertible. I knew Peugeot would sooner or later do it

Great looking design study. Now only if they could make a car with less electrical issues.
