2016 Audi S4 4

Audi has launched the all-new S4 at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The new performance sedan as expected, not only packs more punch than the outgoing model, but achieves better fuel efficiency as well thanks to its newly developed turbocharged engine.

Under the hood, the S4 gets a turbo 3.0-litre V6, which produces about 349 hp and 500 Nm of torque. The engine is also lighter which further adds to its better fuel economy numbers than its predecessor. Power is delivered via an 8-speed automatic transmission and helps it achieve a 0-100 kph time of 4.7 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 250 kph.

The “quattro” all-wheel drive system has a self-locking centre differential which provides 60-percent of the torque to the rear wheels under normal driving conditions. However, depending on the situation, the system can send up to 70-percent to the front axle and 85-percent to the rear tyres, in order to ensure maximum traction when required.

The S4 is 23 mm lower than the regular A4 and gets 245/50 tyres wrapped around 18-inch alloy wheels or on optional 19-inchers. It gets LED headlights as standard, but for a bit more moolah, you can add matrix LED headlights.

Inside, the sports sedan gets S sport seats wrapped in leather and Alcantara, illuminated door sill trims with the “S4” logo, matte-brushed aluminuim inlays and an optional 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

The 2016 Audi S4 could arrive in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries sometime around next year.

  1. RIP 340i and XES. Now I can’t wait for the new RS4/RS5 to destroy the M4 and C63
