2017 Infiniti Q60 Coupe breaks cover in Detroit
Infiniti revealed the all new Q60 Coupe at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show this week. The car remains almost untouched from its concept version which made waves at Geneva last year.
The design language for the premium coupe is very much in-line with their current offerings, but it does feature a new and aggressive front grille with ‘Active Grille Shutters’ and vented front fenders. The stance is further enhanced by the 19 or 20-inch alloys and crescent-shaped C-Pillars. Infiniti will also offer their new ‘Light Guide’ technology enabled LED headlights, which are designed to “mimic the shape of a human eyelid”.
The Q60 Coupe will be offered with a choice of two engines- starting with a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 208 hp and 350 Nm of torque. A 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 from the ‘VR’ family producing 300 hp and 400 Nm of torque is also on the cards. However, if you’re looking for high performance, Infiniti will offer a 400 hp and 475 Nm of torque- tuned variant of the same engine. The engines will be mated to a 7-speed automatic-transmission sending power to the rear wheels, but an optional all-wheel drive system is available.
The interior of the Q60 Coupe will receive leather-covered seats and dashboard, an all-new 13-speaker Bose sound system and a snappier version of Infiniti’s ‘InTuition’ infotainment system.
The coupe will also benefit from Dynamic Digital Suspension system with bespoke dampers and six-steering settings, which include- Standard, Snow, Eco, Sport, Sport+ and Customize alongside Infiniti’s direct adaptive steering.
The 2017 Infiniti Q60 Coupe is expected to go on sale in the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the rest of the GCC later this year.
