2017 Chrysler Pacifica revealed in Detroit
Chrysler revealed the all-new Pacifica minivan at the recent 2016 Detroit Auto Show. It replaces the Town & Country model.
The exterior gets a lot of design cues from the new Chrysler 200. The Pacifica rides on a new platform. Even though its pretty much the same size as Chrysler’s previous minivan, the new platform is about 136 kg lighter.
The interior gets new materials and colours, along with a 8.4-inch touchscreen which is part of the Uconnect infotainment system and there’s also a new rear-seat entertainment system featuring dual 10-inch touchscreens.
The new Pacifica also comes with Chrysler’s Stow ‘N Go seating which means that you will be able to fold down the seats into the floor when extra cargo space is needed.
Under the hood, it gets the 3.6-litre V6 Pentastar engine which produces about 287 hp and 355 Nm of torque, mated to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. There is also a hybrid engine option, which uses the same engine, but detuned to 248 hp and attached to a 16 kWh battery. The battery can be fully recharged in two hours using a 240-volt plug.
It goes on sale before the summer in the States. Whether the Chrysler Pacifica will come to the UAE, Saudi Arabia or other GCC countries is still not known.
