2017 Ram 2500 Power Wagon debuts at Chicago Auto Show
Ram unveiled the 2500 Power Wagon at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show, literally letting the truck loose on stage. Ram equipped the stage with some offroad-mimicking topography in order to show that the new Ram is not just show but go as well.
Aesthetically, the truck is similar to the 1500 Rebel. The visual appeal of the truck is improved massively by the blacked-out look. It starts with the fully blacked-out bumper with black bezel protector lamps on either sides. The wheel-arch moldings, badges, mirrors and lower body panels get the same treatment.
The Ram 2500 Power Wagon is powered by a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 engine producing 410 hp and 581 Nm of torque. This massive torque endows it with the capability to tow close to 5500 kilograms. And as the 2500 showed off on the stage, Ram made it clear that it comes with a suspension setup that allows for some serious level of articulation. It also gets more than 2 inches of lift and a locking differential as well.
The interior of the vehicle also comes with some changes, such as upgraded materials on the seats, dashboard and steering wheel. Ram will also spec the interior with rubber mats and more if you plan on hitting the dirt regularly.
The 2017 Ram 2500 Power Wagon will be in U.S. showrooms within a few months, although there is no word on GCC availability.
