2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport breaks cover at Geneva Motor Show
Chevrolet has unveiled the latest Grand Sport edition of the Stingray Corvette at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The ‘Grand Sport’ moniker has been offered on and off in the Corvette lineup since 1963, as beefed up versions of the standard car.
The new Corvette Grand Sport sports a Z06-inspired grille and wider rear fenders, alongside an optional carbon-fibre package that includes a front splitter and side skirts. The car will also ride on 19-inch or 20-inch satin-black wheels wrapped in Michelin Sport Plus tyres.
Under the hood lies a 6.2-litre LT1 V8 engine producing 460 hp, which will be mated to a 7-speed manual or an optional 8-speed automatic transmission. This should enable the car to accelerate from 0-100 kph in a spritely 3.9 seconds.
Not much has changed inside the car but for some added three-dimensional ‘Grand Sport’ badges embossed in the headrests, and a unique interior with Tension Blue leather and suede upholstery.
Underneath the skin, the Grand Sport receives a re-tuned suspension setup with special springs, stabiliser bars and magnetic ride control. High performance Brembo brakes and an electronic limited-slip rear differential have also been added as standard. Furthermore, customers can opt for the extreme Z07 performance package that adds carbon-ceramic brakes and Michelin Cup 2 tyres.
The Corvette Grand Sport coupe and convertible will go on sale in the U.S. market this summer, although it remains to be seen if it is offered in the UAE and other GCC countries.

Fantastic exterior… ugly odd interior colors.
