Callaway Corvette AeroWagen shooting brake becomes a reality

The Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray is revered by many as one of the best modern sports cars from America. The aesthetics of the Corvette also attracted some acclaim when it was released. Now, Corvette tuners Callaway has given life to a Corvette C7 wagon which they rendered back in 2013. Dubbed the C7 AeroWagen, the new shooting-brake body style was spotted testing at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway in California.

The new car features a seamlessly extended rear with custom badging. The wagon bit is a neat addition to the car and doesn’t look anywhere close to an afterthought, which it actually is. The roof is extended to the rear and a smaller back window completes the look. The rest of the body looks nearly stock apart from the new alloys.

No word has been said on what the power of the AeroWagen is going to be. The stock Corvette Stingray produces 455 hp from its 6.2-litre V8 while the Z06/Z07 versions generate 650 hp from the supercharged 6.2-litre engine.

The Callaway Corvette C7 AeroWagen will set you back US$ 14,990 (Dhs 55,000) over the price of a new Corvette and an extra $2980 (Dhs 11,000) will be needed to match the colour with that of the car. If an extra boost in speed is sought after, Callaway has a few performance packs for you to pick from. The SC627 and SC757 packs, as the name suggests, hikes the output to 627 hp and 757 hp respectively. These packs will also add different interior trim, a new key fob and custom wheels.

Update: Mr. Callaway tells us in the comments below that the SC757 package is for the ZO6 Corvette. However, the AeroWagen package can be installed on any C7 Corvette coupe.

These cars won’t be officially sold by Chevrolet dealers in the GCC, but Callaway is likely open to shipping a car to the UAE if you have the means.

Comments

  1. 757 hp is the rating for the Callaway package on the Z06 engine. Both the Callaway Corvette and the standard Corvettes Z06 and Stingray are good starting points for the Aerowagen package

  2. Superb! Fabulous features shared in the blog. Thanks for sharing information.
