Subaru Crosstrek 2018 gets a refresh
Alongside the updated Outback wagon, Subaru showcased the new version of its smallest car-based crossover, the Crosstrek, at the recent 2017 New York Auto Show. Unlike the refresh given to the Outback, the Crosstrek comes with an updated engine apart from the visual tweaks.
The 2.0-litre flat-four unit is worked on a bit to squeeze out 4 more horses. The output now stands at 152 hp. The power is mated to a six-speed manual transmission or an optional CVT that also comes with the off-road-intended X-Mode. Torque vectoring all-wheel-drive, a standard offering, will handle the task of laying the power down to the tarmac, or any other surface.
The latest Crosstrek is built on a new modular Subaru Global platform that adds 30mm to the wheelbase and 15mm to its length. The Crosstrek now rides with a ground clearance of 221mm.
The interior of the Crosstrek is also decently appointed. The base model comes with a 6.5-inch infotainment system screen as standard, which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The mid-spec model adds things like heated front seats, windshield and exterior mirrors. The top-banana is the Limited model which comes with steering-responsive LED running lights, chrome exterior trim, leather upholstery and an 8-inch screen.
The Crosstrek, known as the XV in the GCC, should hit UAE showrooms by the end of summer this year.

Looks better. More like a Subaru, less like a bloated hot wheels car like the old one
