Aston Martin Vantage V12 V600 revealed with manual gearbox
There are some proud dinosaurs in the petrolhead arena who cling on to the good old way of motoring even when the world moves on to other advanced technologies. Aston Martin has acknowledged their needs by revealing just the right kind of car. To these primitive petrolheads’ delight, Aston Martin’s Vantage V12 V600 with a proper manual gearbox is here as a limited edition.
The V600 combines a 592 hp naturally aspirated V12 with a 7-speed manual gearbox and plonks them in a previous-gen Vantage body. The “V600” moniker was previously used in 1998 for the V8 Vantage V600 which was the most powerful production car at that time. The name fits the Vantage V12 V600 which is shown off as the “ultimate analog Vantage”.
There are a few visual updates to go with it as well. The exterior is bathed in carbon fibre. The bulged hood, new front grille, new side strake and carbon fibre diffuser at the back are all exclusive for the V600. The set of centrelock forged and machined aluminium wheels are also exclusive for the model.
The interior is also not spared from the carbon fiber treatment. Aston has also employed dark anodised aluminium along with carbon fibre inside the cabin. The sporta seats and the central armrest has been wrapped in handcrafted saddle leather.
The orders are open for the V600 but only 14 cars will ever be built, namely 7 coupes and 7 roadsters. It is unlikely that any are coming to the Middle East, given the lack of love for Astons here.
