2020 Land Rover Defender sort of leaked
There has been a lot of speculation, and negativity, on what the upcoming 2020 Land Rover Defender will look like, especially as there is no way the Defender can continue its classic looks in a modern safety-conscious world. With numerous spy shots hinting at something that looks like a previous-generation Land Rover LR4, the reincarnation of the legendary off-roader is largely expected to become the new boxy option to the blobby new Discovery. And the wait to see what the new Defender looks like is almost over, as a leaked image of the Defender surfaces, presumably from the instrument cluster of a pre-production prototype.
The image from the instrument cluster is not of high quality but is clear enough to show the boxy design language of the retro-modern off-roader. There are four doors on this Defender, although a 2-door is also expected. The thick shoulder line, tailgate-mounted spare wheel and squared wheel arches amplify the SUV appeal. A new signature Land Rover design touch is the thick body-coloured panel on the C-Pillar, which stands out among the completely blacked out glass area.
The design of the 2020 Land Rover Defender is clearly going to be exactly as it was expected to be, as it becomes obvious that the prototype isn’t really going around in an “LR4-inspired” temporary body, and is the real deal.
