2022 GMC Terrain gets a facelift

GMC Terrain was supposed to be renewed last year but due to the pandemic, the little crossover had to wait for another year to freshen up. So here it is, the 2022 GMC Terrain, coming in with visual upgrades and new safety features, along with new Denali and AT4 trims.

The 2022 GMC Terrain gets new styling in the form of a new front grill, new headlamps, new 18- and 19-inch wheel designs and updated tail lamps. There is an Elevation Edition, available on the SLE and SLT trims, adding unique wheel designs and accents.

The biggest news in the 2022 GMC Terrain lineup is the addition of the Denali and AT4 trims. Both are top trims but kitted out to do different tasks.

The Terrain AT4 focuses on making the crossover look more off-road ready, with a black chrome grill, special black wheels, front skid plate and black wheel arches. It is unclear if any actual offroad capability has been added.

The Denali on the other hand is the luxury version with fitting exterior elements (read, a lot of chrome), interior upgrades and more standard features like the heads-up display.

There are a few upgrades to the safety suite as well, with the 2022 Terrain getting automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, front collision alert, following distance indicator, lane-keep assist with departure warning and IntelliBeam headlights as standard.

Powering the 2022 GMC Terrain is the same 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine churning out 170 hp and 275 Nm of torque. It is paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox.

The 2022 GMC Terrain brings in a few changes to the crossover, keeping it relevant for another year.
