2022 Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid adds electricity to the range

The Bentley Flying Spur became the de facto flagship sedan for the brand after the demise of the Mulsanne. Adding to its range, the Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid joins the brand’s Middle East line-up. The Bentley Hybrid will join the W12 and V8 options for the large sedan.

The Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid has the same design language as the latest Flying Spur models. There is a Blackline specification adding blackened trim to the body. It even features a black version of the iconic Flying B mascot, sitting atop the radiator grill. The only feature that sets apart the hybrid on the exterior is the charging point on the left rear fender, aside from the hybrid badge. The interior, as in any Bentley, is swathed in luxury — leather hides with an option of five shades, wooden panels, the lot.

Moving to the business bit, the Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid uses a 2.9-litre V6 as its source of combustion power. This by itself produces 410 hp and 550 Nm. Assisting this engine is an electric motor that chips in an additional 134 hp and 400 Nm of twist. This motor gets its juice from a 14.1 kWh Li-ion battery that can be charged in two and a half hours. They say the combined output will be 544 hp and 750 Nm.

With this power on tap, the large sedan can rush from 0 to 100 kph in just over 4.3 seconds. There are three driving modes on offer — EV Drive, Hybrid Mode, and Hold Mode. With all the tech up its sleeve, the Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid returns a total combined range of 700 km.

Orders will be open during this summer and the first buyers can get their hands on the Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid by the end of this year. Expect it to be available in the UAE and GCC by then as well.
