2025 Nissan Patrol Y63 set to launch tomorrow
The all-new 2025 Nissan Patrol is set to be unveiled globally tomorrow in Abu Dhabi.
It will surely surpass the hype of the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado’s regional launch event, as the Nissan Patrol enjoys immense popularity in this part of the world.
First look of the 2025 Nissan Patrol officially launched.
Unlike the LC Prado launch, though, where we knew long before what it would look like, we still have no idea what the final version of the Patrol will be visually. The closest we have come is from a few spy shots of it testing around the UAE. No “leaks” have happened, and no uncovered vehicle has been spotted at the ports. Nissan has been pretty tight-lipped.
With rising fuel prices and stricter emissions, Nissan has decided to forgo its VK56D V8 engine—an excellent but thirsty motor. Our 2014 Nissan Patrol V8 refuses to do better than 5.1 km/litre! Well, to be fair, it is primarily driven in the city and barely driven on the highway. But doesn’t change the fact it is a gas guzzler.
It has already been revealed that the 2025 Patrol will have a twin-turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 engine producing 425 hp. Turbos are good at producing torque, and the new engine produces 700 Nm of it, which is a jump of 140 Nm from the old V8 motor.
Other exterior details revealed were the new taillights, which have a double-C-shaped design.
Next is a more extensive front grille to give it more presence.
The 22-inch wheel design isn’t a massive change from the previous model.
Inside, the 2025 Nissan Patrol will have seats designed in a “NASA-inspired” style. The top-end model will have leather-wrapped seats with a driver and passenger massage function.
Another local favourite, the Nissan Patrol Safari, will also be discontinued in 2025. Production has already ended for the Patrol Y61, which has existed since 1997.
