2025 Nissan Patrol has a cool American cousin – the Nissan Armada Pro-4X

For a while now, the Nissan Patrol has been sold in North America as the Armada. However, for the first time, they have introduced a proper off-road version of the Armada, calling it the Armada Pro-4X.

The Nissan Armada was launched in North America simultaneously with the Nissan Patrol’s global launch in the UAE.

Under the hood, it has the same 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine producing 425 hp and 700 Nm connected to a 9-speed automatic.

The Armada Pro-4X gets black-painted 20-inch all-terrain tyres, an adaptive air suspension, a metal skid plate, and an electronic locking rear differential. The previous generation Armada didn’t get a locking diff present in the Nissan Patrol.

The exterior gets an off-road bumper for better approach angle and a revised three-slot front grille, giving it a tougher look. The rear bumper has been revised to improve the departure angle.

The blacked-out fender flares, red front tow hooks, red Armada badge in the D-pillar, and red Nissan badging in the front and back are nice touches that enhance the looks as well.

With the air suspension, the Armada can be raised to 24.3 cm of ground clearance at the highest setting. The Armada Pro-4X has a 33.9-degree approach angle, a 25.3-degree breakover angle, and a 24.3-degree departure angle.

For the interior, the Armada Pro-4X looks to have received a different design for the upholstery and the Pro-4X engraving on the headrests.

Comments

  1. Reminds of the time Nissan launched the special desert edition with offroad suspension, offroad rims and tires and skid plates. They will definitely bring an offroad version in later years when the sales stabilises but may not call it Pro4X, probably desert edition.

  2. Unpopular opinion: The Armada PRO 4X looks better than the Patrol Platinum.
