Xpeng launched in the UAE
Xpeng Motors has made its official UAE debut, launching its electric vehicles under the management of GSM, an Ali & Sons Holding subsidiary. This launch aligns with Xpeng’s 10th anniversary and places the UAE as the brand’s first GCC market.
The event showcased Xpeng’s new G6 and G9 electric SUVs and the brand’s eye-catching “Land Aircraft Carrier” modular flying car concept.
Xpeng G9 and G6
The G9, Xpeng’s flagship luxury SUV, has been designed for drivers seeking a premium electric experience. Touted as the world’s fastest-charging mass-production SUV, the G9 gets the XPENG’s 800V platform, which can charge from 10% to 80% in under 20 minutes. The G9 also features dual-chamber air suspension, which enhances ride comfort while keeping handling sharp. The G9 also has an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) for improved safety and convenience.
The G6, another standout in Xpeng’s lineup, is also built on the SEPA2.0 platform. It features an 800V electrical architecture capable of super-fast charging up to 280 kW and is available with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive.
The G9 is available in two trims: the RWD Long Range, which delivers 286 hp and 440 Nm of torque, and the AWD Performance, which packs 476 hp and 660 Nm for a rapid 0-100 km/h sprint in under four seconds.
Voice Command System
Both SUVs come with the “Hey XPENG” voice command system, which works without a network connection and recognizes complex instructions from any seating position. They also feature a 5D sound system known as X-OPERA. The G9 goes a step further with external speakers for music enthusiasts who want to enjoy their tunes outdoors.
Xpeng in the UAE
Xpeng’s entry into the UAE aligns with the country’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. They also plan to release the new X9 and have a dedicated UAE showroom network soon.
