The Hennessey Venom GT clocked 435.31 kph on February 14th, 2014 on the Shuttle Landing Runway at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center. This made the Venom GT the fastest production car, but with no official Guinness world record. Seven years after its introduction, Hennessey has decided to let the curtain fall on this Lotus Exige-based speed monster, but not without a bang.
It was only last week that Hennessey had laid an unofficial claim for the World’s fastest production car title with its Venom GT, after it hit a top speed of 427.6 kph (265.7 mph). However, it has now brought to light that the previous record holder, Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, may have had an unfair advantage.
Hennessey Performance made history recently with there latest incarnation, the Hennessey Venom GT. The street-legal supercar accelerated from 0-300 kph in just 13.63 seconds to enter the Guinness World Records.
Hennessey Performance has announced the delivery of the company’s first production-ready Venom GT supercar. Having left its UK production facility, the Chassis Number 01 Venom GT is headed to the UAE where it is to be delivered to its new owner by Hennessey’s exclusive Middle East distributor, Al DiMora of DiMora Motorcar.
Tuner company Hennessey has released the Venom GT. It combines British engineering with American muscle as it looks like the Lotus Elise and has a highly tuned Corvette ZR1 engine, giving it the best of both worlds.
