The last time a premium brand like Jaguar tried to go affordable a decade ago, we got a Mondeo-based oddball in the form of the X-type saloon. With the word “affordable” back in fashion, Jaguar is touting the C-X16 as a rear-wheel-drive two-seater coupe that you can actually afford that is to go head on with the affordable Porsche Cayman which, when we checked last time, wasn’t so affordable.

With a choice of three V8 engines, two of them supercharged, Jaguar apparently were not finding enough buyers for their all-new XJ flagship sedan in “developing” regions such as Russia, China and the Middle East. So as per “demand”, they’ve released a new base model with a 3.0-litre V6 just for these markets.

Jaguar celebrate 75th anniversary on September 2010


The 23rd of September 2010 marked the 75th anniversary of the Jaguar marque. To mark the occasion, a group of 75 individually-numbered, iconic Jaguars from across the years made a two-day journey from Coventry to Goodwood. This exclusive celebration drive, starting in Coventry on the 17th of September, commenced in London’s May Fair hotel, which is the site of the original Jaguar model launch in 1935, and finished at the UK’s largest heritage motor festival, the Goodwood Revival on the 18th.
